Your First Visit
Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you and provide you with our new patient forms, including information about your health history and information about your current condition(s) that brought you to our office.
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Jill Smith to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Smith to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your health goals.
After your consultation, Dr. Smith will perform a complete orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic examination. Dr. Smith will explain the tests that he performs as he performs them.
Depending on your specific condition, Dr. Smith may take X-rays as well. X-rays will help Dr. Smith to develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert him of any serious contraindications to chiropractic treatment. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
Once your history is collected, your examination is performed, and all necessary x-rays are taken, we will schedule you for a Report of Findings visit.
On the day of your Report of Findings, after reviewing your health history, your health goals, reviewing your examination results, and studying your x-rays, Dr. Smith will discuss the recommendations with you for your care. At this time, Dr. Smith will give you a detailed report of all the findings and answer any questions you may have including:
Dr. Smith will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.
At the conclusion of the Report of Findings visit, which normally happens at your second visit, you can choose to experience your first Chiropractic treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy modalities, and/or soft tissue techniques such as massage.
Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest home care instructions for you to do. This may include ice or heat application, instructions to avoid specific activities or positions, and/or instructions for at home exercises. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized plan. The purpose of these instructions is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, encourage you to exercise, and have you maintain a positive mental attitude.
